Small Grant Opportunity
Groundwork has just contacted us to extend to Community Network Members an opportunity to access small grants provided by a supermarket chain. The grants are small, just a 'few hundred pounds' each and will be available to groups that are helping to improve or maintain green spaces which are located near to the branch of the supermarket. Unfortunately, we're not at liberty to name the supermarket chain at this stage.
If your group has a need for a small grant to support your work and you would like to be considered under this scheme, please contact us in the first instance and provide the following details:
1) The name of the group
2) A named contact for the group, with a daytime telephone number and preferably an email address
3) A brief description of the group and its objectives
4) A brief description of what you would use the grant for
5) The name and postcode of the green space that would benefit from the grant
All applications need to be submitted by Friday 30th November at 5pm to Lucy Fowler
Because these small grants are only available for green spaces that are located near to the supermarkets it is critical that you provide the postcode for the green space that will benefit from the grant (if you don't know the postcode for the green space, you could use the postcode of a residential address that is very near the green space). Our friends at Groundwork will be mapping the post codes received against those of the shops owned by the supermarket chain and will then be contacting the groups that are lucky enough to be located nearby.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this opportunity and we look forward to receiving and passing on applications from GreenSpace Community Network Members.
