City read vintage event

City Reads is hosting a fabulous Vintage Fair on Saturday 6th October at
The Old Market in Hove, as part of a series of events exploring Bethan
Roberts'  My Policeman  (this year's big read).

As well as stalls there will be live entertainment, a 50s hair and beauty
workshop and of course, a very vintage tea stop! Punters will be charged
just £2 entry.

CITY READS 2012 - volunteers required

CITY READS 2012
15 Sept - 7 Oct

The City Reads festival is an annual citywide "Big Read", conceived to
spread a love of books and ideas to the widest possible audience
throughout Brighton & Hove.

WANT TO GET INVOLVED?
City Reads is looking for event stewards, book givers, photographers and
people to man stalls at community events and festivals. Volunteer opps
start on 18 August through to 7 October.

National Personal Safety Day 2012

This year National Personal Safety Day will take place on 8th October and will be coupled with the Tech No Chances campaign, both run by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust (www.suzylamplugh.org).

National Personal Safety Day aims to get as many people as possible throughout the UK thinking about their personal safety and giving them simple advice on how they can to reduce the risks of becoming a victim of violence and aggression. With your help again this year, we can help the Suzy Lamplugh Trust reach even greater numbers of people than ever before.

Bringing the city's communities together

People's Day is a community event which has been designed to increase
understanding and to celebrate the diverse communities that make up
Brighton & Hove.

People's Day 2012 will take place on Saturday 14 July as part of the
Olympic Torch relay weekend of festivities.
