Health and Social Care information gets a new standard

The public can now get clear guidance on what health information can be trusted following the launch of an Information Standard.

There are over 50,000 health information providers in the UK and research had shown the general public often gets confused about which ones it can trust.

Party Conference Bursary Scheme 2010

NCVO is launching the Party Conference Bursary scheme for 2010 which will allow 7 smaller organisations to attend each party conference and have their voices heard at a national level.

What’s on offer?

Successful organisations will receive a two-day pass to the Labour, Conservative or Liberal Democrat Party Conference, 1 night’s accommodation and reasonable travel costs to and from the party conference. The provisional days to attend each conference are the Monday and Tuesday, although this may be subject to change.

Grow your own revolution gets major land boost

There is a huge interest in 'growing your own' with people wanting to get more in touch with where their food comes from, as well as staying active and spending more time outdoors.

About 300,000 gardeners in England already have allotments but demand still outstrips supply and the Government is therefore announcing new ways of meeting people's desire to dig in.

W.W.F Earth Hour is here again!

Last year was the first year we took part in the Earth hour event, to raise awareness of our climate change problems and to emphasise the amount of power we use, often unnecessarily. We had 45 walkers that night. This year we want to make it much bigger.

Blitz on rogue A boards along Western Road

As part of a "day of action", the residents of Brunswick and Regency areas community groups, LAT's and Neighbourhood Action Group are reporting all street obstructions, A Boards and other access issues along the Western Road in Hove to the Castle Square corridor. The reports include any over sized boards, premises not displaying the council licence, and where the amount of items exceeds the licence.
